If it runs by pouring fuel into the throttle body, then fuel delivery appears to be the issue. if the pump works check the injector system.Fredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04598268556068863183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2307322303758388123.post-47606364839496836052021-10-29T12:16:03.445-07:002021-10-29T12:16:03.445-07:00If we ever get it going again thats' probly wh...If we ever get it going again thats' probly what i will do.Fredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04598268556068863183noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2307322303758388123.post-73153260633312785902021-10-29T09:29:39.586-07:002021-10-29T09:29:39.586-07:00Given a choice, I'd seriously look at the '...Given a choice, I'd seriously look at the '76...much less computerized and less susceptible to an EMP...still, it's a Chevy...stock up on dist caps, rotor, points/condenser, extra carb, water pump, alternator, and starter.extexanwannabehttp://extexanwannabee.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2307322303758388123.post-65040906309166096762021-10-29T08:42:54.583-07:002021-10-29T08:42:54.583-07:00I have a 1984 or 5 Dakota that just sits around......I have a 1984 or 5 Dakota that just sits around...long story. It was a fleet vehicle with 171,000 miles on it, very clean, Kelly listed it in excellent condition for 9500. They were asking 17,950 for it. I told them no way I was paying almost double for a 9 year old truck with that mileage. I drove by the next day and it was gone... I hope whomever got it likes those payments.Cederqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05603951063463035196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2307322303758388123.post-69189116542720413092021-10-28T13:31:27.767-07:002021-10-28T13:31:27.767-07:00Thats what I'm looking at. My grandson has a 76 dodge sitting in my driveway with no motor or trans. We have the motor my other grandson is going to rebuild. If we ever get it going I might just drive that one. Until he takes it to alaska. There is a 1987 el camino in morro bay the guy wants 6250 reduced from 8250. So glad I got my 89 Silverado when I did.
I saw an early 80's Chevy 4X4 that looked real clean at a local wrecking yard called All American Classics for three grand the other day.
I just saw it while driving by. It probably needs an engine or transmission but at three grand it would be worth buying and doing easily.
The thing was all clean, shiny and original looking.
Might be something to look into, buying what they call a Builder from a wrecking yard. That's where I got that El Camino I had for six years, after I had the transmission rebuilt it was the most reliable rig I have ever owned out of all sixty plus of them.Philhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15695733883033137146noreply@blogger.com
