This is just a blip for now I believe.

I predict some judge somewhere will put a stay on this ruling until california can get the whole circuit to review the case.

Then the whole 9th circuit clown of appeals will say the background checks are good to go, just keep em.

Then it will wind up at scotus and who in hell knows WHAT those jackasses will rule.

I simply do not understand why all of this has to be litigated and why the hell it takes so long to wend its way thru the court system.

ALL gun control laws are unconstitutional, plain and simple.

I bought this yesterday to replace the overflow/drain fitting on an evaporative cooler.

See the drain plug fitting on the upper right? You would think the threads on that are 3/4" npt. But you would be wrong.

Those are a garden hose fitting. Garden hose? Not 3/4 npt? WWTF??

So another trip to lowes. Why? I'm not gonna use a garden hose as a drain, I am using pvc.

And then they hide the sonofabitch adaptor. I went to 4 goddamn aisles hunting for this effing thing.

Got it done and now I got a couple rust holes in the pan. I let it dry overnight, going down now to cover it in black mastic.

 Have you gone recently to a big box store, like lowe's, and go to checkout and find there are no checkers and no checkout booths?

Except for self checkout. There are 4 of those.

Except 2 of them say you can only use a card to pay. The other 2 say cash and card. Can't wait for the day they all say card only.

Yesterday I went to lowes and at self checkout there was a pretty young thing to help.

First thing I did was tell her I should write to corporate demanding a 25% discount since I had to check myself out.

She just looked at me.

Got everything scanned except one pvc fitting. She had to manually enter the scan number to get it to work.

Went to pay and the screen lit up and said make sure customer is over 18 to buy this product. She tapped the screen before I could see what it was.

Just Got Home, and Boy I am Tired

 I had a great trip, but boy am I tired.

Drove 3000+ miles the last two weeks. My truck is tired, but it's a trooper. I am proud of it.

I will get back in the groove tomorrow.

I drove thru California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma then back to Texas.

Last Friday I drove thru Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, spent Friday and Saturday night. 

Left Sunday drove thru Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and home to California.

Jeez louise I am glad to be home. 

My two granddaughters kept the place up to par while I was gone. And collected the mail.

Did I say I am glad to be home?

Real ID Still Sucks Balls

 The stupid real id strikes again.

Friday I am driving up to Ft. Riley in Kansas to see my grandson and haul some stuff home for him.

I had him reserve a room for me at a hotel on base.

Went online to get the address of the visitor center on base so I could look at mapquest and get some directions.

The info I got for the center indicated I had to have real id to get on the base. So I gave them a call to confirm, and that is in fact the case. Alternatively I could show a second form of id, such as birth certificate, passport, or social security card.

None of which I have with me. And I don't have real id, and never will. Kind of defeats the fact that one of the things this country was founded on was the ability to travel freely.

Looks like most of the country is okay with giving up some freedom for a little perceived security. Which is sad.

So I reserved a room off base. He will meet me there.

From that hotel to my home in California is about 1600 miles.

Hope to be home by Tuesday of next week.

Good Morning From Rainy Texas Again

 Went to the family reunion this weekend and got back to my brothers house last night.

That's thanks to my niece who cruises at about 85 in the slow lane. 

She don't let any grass grow here.

Had a great time. Saw some cousins I haven't seen in over 50 years, and met some younger cousins I never knew existed.

On track to be back home next week.
