A company called Signature Solar keeps advertising there. Funny how that works. Visit a site you have never gone to and BAM! you are flooded with ads.

I typically ignore these advertisements, but this morning my shaking hands hit the wrong email to read. And I was intrigued by what I saw.

A 1 ton(12000 btu) minisplit A/C unit that can be powered by grid power OR directly by solar panels. Now that interests me because I am currently in the position of needing to replace a leaking swamp cooler.

Today I am going to liberally coat the inside of the cooler with black mastic tar in hopes of foregoing the inevitable until the fall.

The "right to repair" fight heats up

 There’s potentially something good happening in Colorado this month. (How often do we get to say that sentence these days?)

This bill is meant to help farmers, but it looks to me like it helps everyone.

I remember the last time I took my truck to the dealership a few years back. They screwed it up so bad another well known mechanic shop couldn't fix it. If I hadn't been able to access repair manuals I would have been forced to buy another truck.

If repair information is not available all repairs will have to be by authorized repair stations. 

Your $300K piece of equipment will have to sit there, unused.

Gardening time is once again here. Many people like to preserve the food they grow, so to that end I found these plans for a solar dehydrator.

The article says cost is about $300, but I think that is probably a low estimate.

I am not going to build one. But I am going to consider something like this for space heating. Add a fan, some concrete mass, small solar panel, you could maybe help heat your home in winter.

Some meme/video makers have too much time on their hands.

 

California to meet 100% of water requests for first time in years due to storms

 Last year farmers got 0% of the water they paid for.

This would be nice. Hopefully this will entice local produce stands to pop back up. Locally our last one closed about 5 years ago.

There is one about 6 miles away, but I don't go that way anymore.

Possibly more water will mean larger crops to send to other states. Help prop up the economy somewhat.

 I smashed my right hand bigtime yesterday.Was going to post pics but  too hard to do. Typing is difficult enough 

I did a stupid by dropping a transfer case in the palm of my right hand while under the truck. Only 27 stitches and no broken bones but can barely use my right hand.

My daughter is getting me an internet device soon. Hoping that will give me better connection.
