The Joys of Life

The ladder I was on wasn't unstable, just old. The leg cracked and went sideways. I gave $5 for the thing in 1988 or so at a going out of business sale.

Insurance said no to the mri, gotta do 6 weeks of therapy they said.

So here it is almost 4 weeks from my fall and I just this week got my first week of therapy. Which was 30 minutes monday and 30 minutes wednesday.

Too early to tell if therapy will help, but time has improved my use of the arm. Can't lift it very well, but more than I could.

  1. Contact the insurer, ask for the name and medical qualifications of the person who decided to deny the MRI. This will frequently make them authorize a test as the people making these decisions are NOT medically qualified to do so. Very few people actually appeal denials, which is why insurers frequently use them to pad profits. Once challenged they often fold as they have no facts to support their actions.

    1. I did that. They said that person was a licensed physician. Their medical director. I said bullshit on that. But I lost that argument. At least the lady doing my therapy is cute.
