I like barbecue. Last thursday we went to Caprock Canyon State Park and rode around a while. Saw some of the bison. This fellow was up close and hot as we drove by.
On the way home we stopped in Dickens Texas at a place called Ponderosa. They had a whole bunch of barbecue. I had brisket slices, pinto beans, and potato salad, with bread. And I'm here to tell you it was doggone good.
Here are a few pics of a place we ate lunch at last friday in Lubbock. It's called Cooks Garage. Looks to me like it used to be a car dealership that was made into a restaurant. The food was good and was not expensive. The bill for five of us was 72 bucks. Which ain't bad in my opinion.
They book live bands also. On august 23 I think Dwight Yokum will be there.
Driving around the rural areas of Texas, I came to the conclusion that if you owned a car restoration business, this is probably the area you should come to. There are old cars stored just about everywhere you look. For Example:

I think maybe somebody somewhere that knows something about batteries should help these folks fix their cars.
Millennials, baby boomers or Gen Z
I'm a boomer, not the submarine though. I was born in 1951.
Back then life was a hell of a lot different than it is now. My dad worked on farms and I helped him very frequently whether I wanted to or not.
We had a party line phone, our ring was 3 short burps. I think there were 3 other families on that line, each with their own distinctive ring.
For tv we had two channels, 11 and 13 out of Lubbock. For me back then that was wonderful. Wait on your favorite show to come on once a week, it was a tantalizing period.

I don't think I've ever been drunk enough to do that. Might be fun to put on Kamala and Rev. Warnock though.

I am going to transport my granddaughter to her university in Phoenix and then drive on to Texas to see my family.

A Harley Biker is riding by the zoo in Washington, DC when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the collar of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings the girl to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A reporter has watched the whole event.
