Energy. We all need it.

US electric grids under pressure from energy-hungry data centers are changing strategy

I have long been an advocate for noncentralized energy production.

Way back yonder before electricity became so common, people used to use windmills to power small generators. But when electricity became so easy that all went away.

I need to do more of that here at my place, my last 2 electric bills were skyhigh. We had a 2 month long heatwave and the a/c scarfs up a lot of lectric.

But to go making my/your own energy route, I/we will have to adjust our usage of energy so we have enough.

Hot? Screw the a/c, leave it off. I turned mine off a week ago, fortunately the temps have been mild for this time of year. But they are creeping back up and I am going to suffer long as I can before I succumb to the energy hog a/c.

I have gone around and unplugged many unnecessary energy users, such as a tv and clock in a bedroom I don't use except for guests.

Anyway. If I were these data centers I would be looking at my own co-generation facility to make my own lectric.
