Don't ever make the mistake I made by ignoring my goddamn insurance company.
Those ignorant fuckers won't renew on a small rental home I have. Because of some non existent tree limbs hanging over the roof.
I submitted pics of the roof showing no tree limbs. They sent out a 3rd party inspector who said tree limbs were hanging over the roof.
Lyin cocksuckers.
I have been calling trying to get other insurance but a blue million of these fuckers don't supply it for california.
And now I am getting fucking bunch of calls from a call center for a place called Freeway Insurance. I called them ONE time, and now I am getting deluged.
There is a tree company advertising on the radio about insurance companies canceling because of tree limbs overhanging the roof. He says let us inspect your trees.
Pretty bad when a tree company feels the need to advertise like that.
If you can prove there are no limbs over your roof but the insurer continues to use that as an excuse sounds like you could find a shyster, file a lawsuit and make a few bucks....
ReplyDeleteinsurance is a racket. big time. all they want is to collect your (their) money and tell some bank your "covered". but when it comes to claims ? yeah, don't hold your breathe.
ReplyDeletecan't blame them in a way as the past few years they had to pay out the ass for shit that has happened. but, like health insurance companies, all they want to do is collect money and not pay anyone
with what they get. and that is why you never see small doc shops anymore. they can not stay open if the companies don't pay them for the work they do. I know of about 4-5 small docs shops that closed because of non payment by big blue and others.
home owners insurance comapnies are learning from them.
ANYTHING, "iffy" and they drop you like a rock.
so, you end up paying a lot more for even less coverage. if that possible. fuckers. all of them.
The tree scam sounds a lot like what they have going on here locally. Cattle stock tanks are often had with a valve that automatically shuts off the water when filled to a level (like a toilet tank). BUT a local city said that since this valve contacts the surface of water, when city pipes are emptied, this can form a vacuum and pull in water into pipes, contaminating them.
ReplyDeleteTheir solution ? Install a back flow preventer on your water line, which is a one way valve to your fixture. Yeah - land owner bears cost for this $200 plus contraption. Yeah, their will be a yearly inspection paid by land owner.
We elected to remove valve completely and turn on hose bibb ourselves. We need to go there anyway to feed the cows and feel the cost they want does not justify the expense.
I renewed my homeowners insurance but before they would cover the house they sent some lady out to look, here 5 minutes. Got a letter saying we had a bad roof & wouldn't cover the house. 9 yr old roof wouldn't stand for wind insurance, $16,000 roof . There goes the kitchen for a few years.
