been there, done that. if you do get surgery, don't use that arm at all. i think i messed mine up by using my arm to get up out of the easy chair while recuperating. didn't heal quite right.
Had mine rebuilt 2.5 years ago. Tore three tendons and a muscle. The surgery isn't a big deal. The recovery is. The pain the first few days afterwards is significant. And the rehab is lengthy and involved. But without proper PT you won't get near as much function back. But it is worth the pain and effort.

ReplyDeleteWhen they tell you not to lift over 5 pounds, they mean it. Figure at least a year to get to 80-90 percent, if you do as they say.
