I'm sittin here looking at stuff and this pic pops up. I see the little yellow thing that says brake pad. Then I think to myself, why are they putting a brake pad inside a distributor with points?
Took me almost 30 seconds before I realized what I was looking at.
I'm gettin old.
that's the cleanest drum i've ever seen, must have used brake cleaner on it before taking pinture
ReplyDeleteWell, the caption IS wrong. That's a brake SHOE not a PAD.
ReplyDeleteStay out of me shrooms, and yes,it tis a brake shoe!
ReplyDeleteActually, it is a pad on the shoe.
DeleteActually, the brake lining material on a brake shoe.
DeleteCome at me, bro.
1st 2nd and 3rd car had 4 wheel drum brakes.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about setting the points on my old flat head V8, Dual points inside of small round container and had to remove the caps from both sides to get into the damn thing to attempt to set the points. Later flatties had a single cap that just unclipped off the front much like modern distributor caps and had a single set of points. I still have the a pair of the side caps and plug wires in tubes laying on the shelf in the old shop. I'll have to get them out and show my nephew how easy it is now a days with electronic ignition but at least I could fix the old ones.
