I worked on boilers for 15 years, and then in the boiler water treatment industry for 30 years. And in that time I came to the conclusion that 99.9% of my customers should not be allowed to operate boilers. Or themselves or a car for that matter.

I've been around boilers. Those running them had years of experience, watched them constantly, and I could see the concern when cold weather, or even a little rain, changed the temperature of the pipes, affected the boiler, and they had to increase their observation. I had to work around them pouring grout pads, and changing side sheets on the building. They made me nervous.
