Okay, I can see why the torx was invented. But doggone it, why the hell did you need to make MORE of these godforsaken drive styles?

Wasn't one enough? How many sets of Torx do I need to keep in my toolbox?

Yesterday I wanted to change a turn signal bulb. T8 torx to remove the screw. Well guess what? It's not a torx but some version and now I gotta figure out which one and go get a set. It's not the security set, I tried that. All I know is T8 didn't fit and none of the others did either.

Good Morning

There was a safety meeting at work today. The guy asked me: What steps do you take in the event of a fire. I guess fucking big ones was the wrong answer.

Back around 1985 or 1986 I worked at a boiler company. My work truck was a dodge kary van, a big box truck. It was gray gray gray, couldn't hardly see it in the fog. One of my job was maintaining the heating system on several chicken growing ranches. A large crew of illegals did the work of getting the individual houses ready for baby chickens. I came into the ranch a little hot one day and slid to a stop in front of the boiler room. All of these guys were illegal. As I jumped out of the truck all I could hear was La Migre La Migre as they hauled ass out of there. Took almost 2 hours to get em back to work is what I was told as they asked me not to do that again.

If you've ever said I'll do that when hell freezes over, good news. You're scheduled to do that this week.

Todays Rant

Well I am happy to announce my old pickup passed smog today.

Yesterday I couldn't get the O2 sensor heater monitor to set. Had to let it sit overnight, and then this morning it ran the monitor. All I had to do then was drive it about 20 miles and the remaining monitors set okay.

Still has a slight rough idle, but the misfire code isn't setting, so I gained a little on that.

Now if I can get state farm off my ass about the bushes at a small house I rent to my grandson. They told me they wouldn't renew the policy. Then they called and said they will renew the policy when I send them photos of the trimmed bushes.

Just did that. Hope those effers are hap hap happy. But just in case, here is nice photo for them to frame.

Vacuum Gauge

There’s nothing more basic than the fact that an engine is just a big air pump

I have been diagnosing/troubleshooting/not having any success my 99 dodge dakota 3.9l engine.

It failed smog in november by 5 ppm hydrocarbon and I am just now getting a round tuit.

It has had an intermittent misfire for a few years. As in it works just fine for a long time and then comes back. And now it's got a rough idle.

Anyway in the course of working on it I found the above article and I thought it was good enough to share.

State Farm Sucks Ass

State farm insurance sucks balls. They wanted photos of a rental property I own.

Sent the photos then they said they sent a "third party investigator" to my house. Based on that they said I have dead treelimbs hanging over the roof(no tree limbs overhanging) and 3 bushes that touch the house.

So based on that they said they will not renew the insurance.

Today my socalled agent called. Wanted me to submit photos I had trimmed the bushes.

I asked why because state farm has already said they won't renew.

Oh yes they will renew.

Can I get that in writing?

No.
