Fresno Calif. city councilman Gary Bredefeld was on a local radio talk show yesterday. He was on fire. He is saying that the mayor and the city council have overstepped their authority and governments nationwide are overstepping their authority.
He laid out some interesting points. For example, when a woman is arrested for going to a publicly owned park that she pays taxes for, that is overreach.
When Fresno tells businesses they have to stay closed, when only about 50 or 60 people in a city of 500,000 have anything close to the covid, that is overreach.
When Target and Wal Mart stores are allowed to remain open and sell products that are not food related, but a small mom and pop place that sells those same products cannot be open to do business, that is goverment overreach.
The news host asked a question: Should people whose businesses have been destroyed and wage earners who have lost wages because of govenment overreach be paid money by the government to either help them out to pay their bill or to be able to buy groceries?
I say absolutely yes, they should be made 100% whole.
