Where is the Order?

For parts of the last 2 days I have been on a quest. I wanted to find and read the executive order asshole newsom signed to mandate mask wearing in california.

I'll be damned if I can find one. I went on state of calif. website, I went on asshoe newsoms website, no joy at either place. 

I went on the Calif. Dept. of Public Health and I found Guidance for wearing face coverings. 

But nowhere I have looked can I find an order.

If anyone knows where that may be found, please let me know.

Our idiot asshole gov newsom is ticked off that we have rolling power blackouts.

An irate Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an emergency proclamation Sunday allowing some energy users and utilities to tap backup energy sources. He acknowledged Monday that the state failed to predict and plan for the energy shortages.

Well no shit blinky, after years of shutting down natural gas and coal fired and biomass power plants that made good amounts of electricity for us, what the hell did you think was going to happen? Solar? Solar is great, for an individual house. But when it comes to providing electricity for the whole state, solar sucks! So does windpower. 

If you drive south of fresno calif down hiway 41 you will come upon at least 2 solar plants. One of those suckers is a full mile long, and at least a half mile wide. That is one helluva crapload of solar panels, must make a helluva lot of electricity. When the sun shines.

A lot of people will be on the bandwagon and say we need nuclear power.  Before you do, just say one word: Fukushima.

I operated nuke reactors in the navy, they are not as safe as folks would have you believe.

Anyway, calif government is full of assholes. We got a recall petition going, but I doubt it will go far. Too many people like sucking on government.

Why the United States Doesn't Use the Metric System

In This Article the author talks about why America doesn't use the metric system. She may be accurate in her reporting, but I don't think she understands. 

My opinion is that we fought a war to get away from the English, and Europe as well, and wanted to sever all ties and be INDEPENDENT.  Why would we continue to use a metric system that tied us to the old country, when we wanted to be a new country?

I may be wr--, wr--, wr--, come on Fonzie say it, wrong, but that is my opinion. You know what they say about opinions and assholes, everybody has one.

I have read several articles now about rolling power blackouts in california.  They say it's the first ones since 2001. Bullcrap, we have had rolling blackouts every year for about 10 years now.  At least around here anyway. I know I would come home from work and have to reset all the clocks.

I remember about 5 maybe 6 years ago now, the power went out. 

I went next door to check on the neighbors, but they had power, which I thought was strange. They said it went out then came back on. So I went to the neighbor directly north of me, and their power was also out. So I got to looking at the wires and the transformers, turns out my house and the one directly north of me are fed by a single transformer, and the houses east of me are on a different transformer.

So us and the neighbor who was also without power called pg&e to come fix the power.  Surprise surprise they showed up within the hour, I couldn't believe it.

Anyway the worker got in his boom and went up to the transformer and immediately saw that a fuse of some sort was blown. So he came down to get the repair part, and lo and behold what did he see on the ground? An extremely fat and extremely electrocuted squirrel.  I don't know how much squirrels weigh, but this was a big fat one. Apparently he was climbing the transformer and shorted something out, and boom, he was gone.

The neighbor and I had a big laugh over that, trying to decide who was going to have squirrel for supper.

Anyway, I hope I am prepared for a rolling blackout. Or a longer blackout. If any of you readers are in california or the west coast, good luck this week. 

Tell Me Again That We Have a Pandemic??

Who in their right mind can say that we have a pandemic? Every day I see headlines that say somebody somewhere is breaking a record for coronavirus. 

I say bullshit.  I say it's all a political game, and they are simply trying to control us. Trying to manipulate the election, the economy, the stupid people into believing we all have to wear masks.

I have no doubt coronavirus is a bad thing. A friend of ours has it and may not live.  Young woman around 40.

But there is not the amount of people getting sick they claim to be.

What if it was 1% of the population? Would it be worth it then? What about 3%?

Apparently all across the United States there have been moratoriums on shutting off water supplies to peoples homes who couldn't pay their bills.  Story is Here.  I did not know that. I have been paying my bill. Frankly, I did not realize that people were having trouble paying their water bill. But I guess I should have, just never thought about it. 

But now I am thinking about it, and I wonder, how could the water companies differentiate between actual deadbeats who won't pay the bill, and people who were forced out of work because of this stupid covid lockdown?

I mean, if you can't pay your water bill, or any bill for that matter, because the damn government refuses to let you work, then maybe the government should pay your damn bill for you, or get the hell out of the way and let you work. This damn covid lockdown shit has gone on long enough.  It is time to go back to what passes for normal.

It appears that the 9th circuit court of appeals has struck down californias ban on high capacity magazines, at least for now. If i read the story right, it was a 3 judge panel, 2 voted for strikedown and 1 liberal said hell no. So it will probably go to the whole 9th court.

Guess They Needed Some Money

This Story reminds me of a story my old boss told me. He and his wife started saving all of their coins in one of those 5 gallon water jugs that fit upside down on a water dispenser. This was back in the mid 1980's.

He said it took a few years to fill it up, expecially when, unknown to him, his kids would raid the thing for coins for the video games.

He said at one point it looked like the thing was going down instead of getting fuller.

When it got full, they had to roll the coins in wrappers, cause back them the banks didn't have the coin machines they have now. He bought a battery operated coin sorter, and he and his wife spent hours sorting the coins and wrapping them.

At the end, they had enough to take a cruise.  

I have a 4x4 plastic container on my night stand I put all my coins in. Takes a few months, but I get about $200 when it is full. 

I guess that's why we have a coin shortage.

Guidance or Law??

What is the difference between guidance and a law?? Seems to me a law as such must be obeyed upon penalty for not obeying.

Guidance? Not so much.  Guidance, to me, is simply a recommendation for following a set of "guidelines".

Here is a link to californias guidance for the use of face coverings, from the california dept. of health. In the text it says "It mandates that face coverings be worn state-wide in the circumstances and with the exceptions outlined below." 


So I repeat the question, what is the difference between guidance and the law? And who makes the law, dept. of health or our state legislature?
