Well, it looks like my old truck is fixed. I think. A week of driving it will tell. The dodge dealership in madera california screwed it up pretty bad, but they did manage to repair the two oxygen sensor codes. I had told them to do the smog check on it so I could register the truck, but those assholes couldn't be bothered. They said bring it back next week. That was after keeping it for 3 weeks. So I drove it 10 miles, which they could have done, and got all the readiness monitors to set. Then I took it to the smog check store and got er done.
Anyway, after I made the dodge dealership give me back half of my money, I took my truck to Electric Lab in Fresno.
The flashing abs light was caused by the wrong vin number being programmed into the controller. That was done at the dodge dealership, probably when they tried to reprogram the wrong computer to fit my truck. Electric Lab inserted the correct vin number, so now the light is no longer flashing. I had asked the dodge dealership to fix that particular fuckup they created, but they wouldn't even address the issue.
The issue of hesitation on acceleration and intermittent bucking snorting and farting while driving down the freeway, and very rough idle, was apparently caused by two things: one plug was cracked and one coil on plug was carbon tracking. Which should have caused a misfire code to set in the computer, but did not. Anyway, replacement of the coil on plug and new sparkplugs appear to have cured the problem. Time will tell.
Toyota trucks run good. Look at all the raghead use of them as gun platforms. they just keep going and going and going.
ReplyDeletegas mileage aint the greatest, but man they run for hundreds of thousands of miles.
yep, toyotas are good gun platforms alright. Mine is a dodge dakota with 260,000 miles on it. Hopefully in the near future I won't have to use it as a gun platform.
ReplyDeleteGreat! I do hope that cures your Dodge problem...
ReplyDeleteMe too Cederq. I've been fucking with this thing since may, had it in 3 garages. I should have trusted my own troubleshooting skills, but I did not. Probly could have been done several months ago.
ReplyDeleteHey there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could get a captcha plugin for my comment form? I'm using the same blog platform as yours and I'm having trouble finding one? Thanks a lot!
