ReplyDeleteWow..30 whole miles a day! About the same distance as a quality horse could cover. Talk about progress.
ReplyDeleteSaw someone posted a video once about an e-bike with a solar charger...kinda like growing alfalfa to feed a horse except the horse doesn't require toxic heavy metals to produce motion. I also read a study where the MOST efficient form of transportation is a regular multi speed bike geared for a reasonably wide range of topography powered by a human being using oatmeal as fuel. The whole system including the growing the oats for oatmeal was the most efficient means of conveyance in regards to kilo calories put in vs kilo calories produced. All this e-crap is a pipe dream, an ecological disaster, and yet one more way to siphon thousands of dollars from people for the privilege of having some form of "technological advantage". Most places I've been, you can get a usable, grown, trained horse for under a grand. Not as fast and loud as a 5.0 'stang, but truly a flex fuel critter that can do a wide variety of work...not the least of which is very pleasant companionship. When civilization is devolved to sub-third world status the horse will be a prize. The e-car will be nothing more than shade and possibly concealment.
