The stuff the USA gets from Canada are things like potash (for fertilizer to literally grow food), oil and natural gas, uranium (for nuclear power plants and weapons) as well as nickel, aluminum, iron ore, silver, gold, raw diamonds, etc. So, it's not manufactured goods you get from Canada but strategic materials required to feed yourselves, to power your factories, homes and cars and industrial inputs used by US factories to produce goods.
