Shotgun for me, especially if I need to dispatch intruders in my house. At about 20 feet, a shotgun loaded with birdshot will put a hole in the perp about the size of a Big Mac. If I SOMEHOW miss, the shot might make it through a wall, but won't have enough energy to injure someone on the other side of it.
I keep mine stoked with #4 shot copper plated in a 3 inch shell. I don't have to worry about over penetration or neighbors. But I may worry about both black and grizzly bears.
Been in healthcare 45 years...most of ithe time dealing with ER. See tons of people who survive handgun rounds including the Europellet. It is exceedingly rare to see a survivor who was hit by a shotgun other than extremity injuries. The just don't survive long enough to reach ER.

ReplyDeleteMy thoughts also. A 9 mm will go thru how many thicknesses of sheetrock? And go across the street into the neighbors house.
