Immigration

During all of this covid crap, what is happening with immigration?
I think we still have some immigration going on, even with lots of people jobless.

"The Georgia Republican Party is set to pass a resolution asking President Trump to impose a full immigration moratorium while about 30 million Americans remain jobless due to the Chinese coronavirus crisis."

I am not certain a full immigration moratorium is going to help anything.  The country has jobs to fill, but I don't think the assholes like the ones in seattle and other places are looking for jobs. It isn't that they want a better job than the ones offered, it is that they don't want any job, period.

On the other hand, I would like to see all immigration stopped also.  I think it is time to let things balance out for a while, let people from other countries stay in their countries for a while longer, until we can get all this sorted out here at home.

What do you think?

  1. Immigration stopped and every one sent back, forcefully if need be.

  2. Yep, stop immigration for a few years, clean out the ones here already. But each one sent back has to take one antifa or blm with them.

  3. How you feel about immigration depends on your goals re: the future of America and the world.

Closed Border: We have enough people and are in enough financial trouble already, and there are plenty of skilled and unskilled workers. Unfortunately, our economy and social programs rely on continual growth in population and GDP. So a closed border will crash the country over time.

Open Borders: You either believe that the US is an unlimited prosperity-sink that can improve the lives of an unlimited number of immigrants (no matter how unskilled or criminal they are), or you realize that unlimited immigration will kill the country and that's okay with you because you love the Cloward-Piven Strategy. Which is worse? Does it matter?

Controlled Immigration: You want to allow some immigration of skilled workers and refugees, but not criminals. Sensible from the US perspective, but it drains the rest of the world of it's best and brightest, stunting the cultural development of third world.

Personally, I'd like to see the borders closed until the economic crisis is over (1-3 years). Then resume highly controlled immigration and deportation of illegals. Guess that makes me a racist.
