What's next, buy another multi thousand dollar car, with a loan probably, and put those keys out also? Why don't you leave a full can of gas there with it, with a note that says, thank you for not coming in and raping my wife? Oh by the way, the spare house key is under the red flower pot.

Around 1994 or 1995, I was woken(awakened?) by the sound of glass breaking. Looking out my bedroom window I see lowlifes in my car, and an unknown car alongside my car. I grabbed my 22 rifle which was loaded(with ammo not jim beam) under my bed, hauled ass outside in my underwear, yelling at the top of my lungs I'm gonna kill you sonsabitches!!

The (perps?) lowlifes jumped headfirst into the open windows of the waiting car and hauled ass. The local sheriff had them in custody within 30 minutes. Which I was grateful for as that was my work car.

The point of me telling you this is to tell what was said to me. The principal of my daughters high school found out about this and said, Vern, it's just property. Let them take it! You could have been killed!

What he didn't think about, but I did, is that car was a direct link to my ability to earn a living for my family. Without that car I was unable to go see my customers. Sure, I could have rented one. But the stealing of that car greatly limited my ability to put food onto my familys table. If that isn't reason enough for you to put yourself into danger, that's your problem.

And not chasing those hooligans would let them think, hey, I can do this to anybody I want.

Think about it. If our forefathers had this state of mind to just let the ruffians run roughshod over you, and give everything to the thieves, we would be calling ourselves british today. And using the verdammt metric system. I hate the metric system.

This attitude of don't fight back is part of why we have so many illegals in our country.
