I was at one of my cold storage customers today in stockton, talking to a kid named Thomas. I say kid, he's probably late twenties. But that's a kid to me.
Anyway, i guess today was his first day back at work since last thursday?
What happened was, the heavy rain we had last week leaked into their main power supply and knocked the power out. They didn't get power back on to the place until i think yesterday.
But that isn't what this post is about. Because of no power, he and a temporary worker had to go somewhere to rent a generator so the office would have power. So they go get this generator, and are towing it up hiway 99. They are in front of a semi a little ways, and i guess it is raining like hell.
So the other people driving on the road are driving like super annuated assholes, doing 70 and 80 miles per hour in a solid downpour. So along comes this dipshit, must've been showing off for his girl, comes past the semi and for some reason known only to god and little green chickens, he decides to merge into the lane directly between my customer who is towing a rather large generator and the semi who is directly behind him.
In the process of doing that, he somehow manages to sideswipe the generator which is being towed behind a brand new chevy colorado pickup. Well, a spinning they went and next thing they know they are facing backwards towards the semi. He doesn't know where the car went that hit the generator, but goddam if here doesn't come the semi and they have a headon collision while going backwards.
Holy shit, it don't get much crazier than that! At least no one was Seriously injured.
