Printer Ink

For the last week I have been working on my federal and state income taxes(hack spit fart cough).

I got the federal done and printed out and mailed off to the bastards.

But my state taxes I had to put on hold because of printer ink.

My magenta ink cartridge ran completely the hell out and the printer said no more printing until you replace that cartridge. I said I will trick you by replacing with a different color until I can get a new cartridge.  AAAAANNNNNKKK! No dice there, the cartridges are designed to not let you do that. So, previously on the printer ink being low I had gone to office depot to get said cartridge. But. HP, which is my brand of printer, in their infinite wisdom and to get you to buy another printer, has apparently quit manufacturing the 02 style of ink cartridges which is what my printer takes. Crap.

No joy anywhere locally to find one either.

So my daughter goes to target? I think it was online, and found some that are not HP ink. She orders those for me, they got here today. They are not the same physical shape, but they fit, and i was finally able to print out my tax forms for the bastards at the state.

Pisses me off the aholes at HP don't  make those cartridges anymore. The printer is a great printer and has lots of life left in it, more than I do I think.

But for now the brand I purchased will work. Until they quit making those.

Oh well. Such is the way of life in the time of biden and the hoe.

  3. There's always the ink refill kits. We use to use those and had pretty good results with them.

    1. Never tried those. We really don't do enough printing anymore for that. As long as i can find the ones i managed to get, i will stick with that.

  4. Back in '01, Xerox made a color printer called a "Phaser" It used huge crayon like chunks of wax as the print medium. It made beautiful color prints as well. Xerox used to give them away to school districts for free as long as the district signed a contract to buy the crayons from Xerox exclusively. The crayons ran about $175 for a 4 pack, and if one moved the printer after it had warmed up, the melted wax would inevitably spill inside the printer. The downside, besides the expensive ink crayons, was that one could not fold the color prints; because the wax would peel off on the fold.
The printer manufacturers don't make much off of the printer; it's the supplies that makes them money.
Those color cartridges have a tiny chip that identifies what color it is to the printer, so no, one cannot switch cartridges.

    1. Problem with this one is the wrong color just won't go into the slot. I was on the way to get a hammer to make it go, but the wife tackled me.

  5. I had an old (2007) HP Office Jet 5610 and finally just had to throw it in the trash. No Joy, ink cartilages were getting scarce as kamala's white virginal underwear...
