As wearisome as it is, here we go again. How do people like this turd sniffer get elected? He obviously doesn't understand the (former) united states constitution.
As I have said many times, the constitution is not a giver of our rights, but a guarantor of our rights. The 2nd amendment is clear, it is specific, it does not mention weapons as being for war, hunting, or sport. A weapon can be used for all of those and more if the owner so desires. And it can especially be used for self defense, as it was in this case.
I wonder what asshole newsom would do if someone walked up behind him, patted him on the shoulder, and as he turned around hit him with a right cross and knocked him the eff out. Would he stand up and fight back as any MAN would do, or would he simply yell for security.
It's not Just that he doesn't understand the constitution. He doesn't understand how simple and how it's just common sense to have the same rights to Be in a place as others. And no matter where you are, you have the right to defend yourself.
