I don't think this is a question of "If It Will Happen", but "When It Will Happen."
Apparently this happened in July of 2020. I wonder how many others have occurred that we do not know about.
Personally I believe that this is a question of "when" not "if."
How bad it will be is anyone's guess.
If the amount of unvetted terrorists coming into this country remains at the all time high it is currently at, we may not have too much longer to enjoy our current electrifying life style.
Think about it. If all or any of these fuckers are co-ordinating with each other, they can easily take out a few or a few hundred substations or grid management station. And we won't do a goddamn thing about it.
If you have not done so, now is the time to either purchase an alternative power producing system, or make one your self. All you need is enough to run one refrigerator and one freezer, a couple of lights, and or a fan. Not much at all. My 24 cubic foot fridge freezer runs on less than 200 watts. A 1 or 200 watt solar system with battery and minimum 1200 watt inverter will run that thing for an hour at a time to get you by. Doesn't take a lot.
Point is now is the time. Take the few minutes necessary to think to yourself what you will do if electrical power is gone for 2 to 4 weeks or longer. Don't like the answer? Then figure something out.
Gasoline or propane generator will work for a while. Till you run out of gas or propane. Another idea is to make a bicycle driven alternator to charge a bank of batteries.
Just better to get started on it today. Rant over.
