Gas prices

 Holee crap gas prices are all over the place.

I usually gas up at my local valero station. It was $4.49 gallon last week when I filled up.

I needed gas today. So I went to my credit union to deposit a check and get some cash. On the way to the credit union I drove by an EZ Trip gas station, 87 octane is $3.43 per gallon. Valero and Union 76 are on opposing corners and are about $4.29 per gallon. That's a hell of a price difference.

As I continued to the credit union I passed by a chevron. $4.89 per gallon. That is a $1.46 per gallon difference. For a 17 gallon fillup that is a difference of $24.82! Holy hell I'm gonna fill up there!

I pulled in and EVERY pump was full and had at least 1 car in line behind them. So I finagle my way around and pull in behind a car. Whose driver gets out, nonchalantly looks around, slowly walks inside. And the one in front of him did the same thing. 

And I'm sitting there waiting on these people and about 5 minutes go by and they didn't come out yet. But I'm blocking the driveway and cars can't go by me. So rather than wait what looks to be another 15 minutes I say to hell with it and pull out for another destination.

Pulled into an EZ Trip over by the highway and paid $4.29 gallon. It was worth it not to get into a fight at the other place.

What a buncha crap!

I get an email from experian saying I had an unauthorized credit inquiry on my credit. No idea how they got my email address.

Says to login to your account to see the details.

Except I don't have an account to login to.

So I find their phone number and call them. Yeah right. No amount of asking to speak to a person gets you a person.

I tried their way by speaking into the phone and giving them the info they asked for, but it just kept going back around to the beginning asking for info.

Ugh. No amount of saying let me talk to a person  helped, they kept hanging up on me.

Buncha friggin asssholes.

I don't like new laws, but this situation requires a law shutting down and prohibiting credit report agencies.

 When I went to Michigan in June, we rented a mini van. We got a Chrysler Pacifica. We need to  move forward slightly to open the rear gate to load some luggage. I got in, left the driver door open, started the vehicle and put it in drive, but it would NOT move forward. The damn thing apparently applied the brake to the front wheel. Until I closed the door the damn thing would NOT go. Now that is just plain stupid.

3. Apparently some credit cards and debit cards and banks and atms were affected. Did you have some cash on you yesterday to make up for it? If this lasted for more than a day and affected food delivery to the stores did you have enough on hand to make it a few days?

Todays Thought

 I mowed the lawn today, and after doing so

I sat down and had a cold beer.

The day was really quite beautiful, and the drink facilitated some deep thinking.

My wife walked by and asked me what I was doing,

and I said, "Nothing."

The reason I said "nothing" instead of saying "just thinking" is because she then would have asked, "About what?"

At that point I would have had to explain that men are deep thinkers about various topics, which would lead to other questions.

Finally I pondered an age old question: Is giving birth more painful than getting kicked in the nuts?

Women always maintain that giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts, but how could they know?

Well, after another beer, and some more heavy deductive thinking, I have come up with an answer to that question.

Getting kicked in the nuts is more painful than having a baby, and even though I obviously couldn't really know, here is the reason for my conclusion:

A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, "It might be nice to have another child."

But you never hear a guy say, "You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts."

I rest my case.

Time for another beer. Then maybe a nap.
