My opinion, if you get shot with either one of these it's gonna hurt like hell.
But. I think the 5.56 has a higher probability of going completely thru a human being. The end result, I think, will be a smaller hole than the 7.62.
The 7.62 being bigger and slower I think will do more damage to the body.
I don't know for sure either way. Never been in combat to find out. I hope to never be in combat. I am a lover, not a fighter. But then again I have been told I'm not a lover either.
Ooh, and the alloy rounds will penetrate most body armor
