I had a 1967 VW Bug with 80,000 miles on it when the engine suddenly started roaring. The hardened steel exhaust valve on the number 3 cylinder snapped and got sucked in to beat the aluminum piston into tiny little pieces and showering the inside of the crankcase with little metal bits.

ReplyDeleteMy soninlaw overheated and engine really bad and broke all the ports the hydraulic lifters sat in.
