Everybody keeps predicting food shortages.

Senator Warns: Fuel Prices Mean Farmers Can’t Harvest Crops — Analysts Say “Food Shortages” Are Coming

There is a video in the article. This guy sounds like he knows what's what.

I think most of the people who read this site are probably well versed in everthing the video and the article relate. Kind of preaching to the choir. Maybe forward the article to a reluctant relative.

About all we can do at this point is hunker down and keep preparing to weather any situation that comes up.

  1. Proverbs 21:20 The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.

Food it's in the rule of 3's of survival just behind air, water and shelter.

Currently basic food is cheap and easily gotten for a two year storage time. Cooking oil and salt are often forgotten but you will NEED them. In many 3rd world countries I've done medical work in cooking oil is scarce and expensive.

Bars of soap are also really valued when things get rough. Ivory has a neutral smell so you don't stand out and can be used to wash dishes, clothing and yourself (hair and all).

  2. There are several fields of winter wheat in my ao that went unharvested due to poor quality combined with high fuel prices . Never seen that happen in my 70 years here in the Buckeye .

    1. Sad to hear things like that. That wheat would help a lot of people this winter.
